My Poem of the Week: "Word-Made"
January 27, 2020
I had a dream that I was made of words,
From head to toe, a body built by sentences and paragraphs,
Coherent and absurd,
Entirely dependent on the letters,
For their arrangements rendered magic to my flesh.
If you could read me limb by limb
And cell by cell,
And every foreign term of my construction learn to spell,
You'd turn this dictionary of exhausting contradictions
Into your own encyclopedia
Of tender definitions.
